German Shorthaired Pointer - Puppies for Sale
Proven Genetics. Natural Hunters. Great Family Dogs.
After years of training different breeds of gun dogs in the field, we knew exactly what we wanted in our own kennel: German Shorthaired Pointers with the genetics, natural ability, temperament, and drive to perform.
We have spent years studying pedigrees, researching bloodlines, traveling to kennels, and working with breeders across the country to build a breeding program around proven gun dog genetics.
Our goal is simple: produce dogs that are enjoyable companions at home and serious hunting dogs in the field.
Our German Shorthaired Pointers are bred for:
-
World-Class Genetics — We breed from proven bloodlines and carefully selected dogs.
-
Natural Hunting Ability — Your dog has the natural drive to find, point, and retrieve birds.
-
Versatility — GSPs are capable hunters on land and in water.
-
Family Temperament — Our dogs are bred to be affectionate, loyal companions as well as capable hunting partners.
Our Dogs
We built our kennel around the type of dog we want to hunt behind.
That means strong natural bird instincts, athletic ability, intelligence, stamina, and a temperament that makes the dog enjoyable to live with when the hunt is over.
German Shorthaired Pointers are one of the most versatile hunting breeds. They are capable of tracking, pointing, and retrieving, and they have the endurance to work through demanding terrain and long days in the field.
A properly bred GSP gives you the combination we value most:
Find. Point. Retrieve. Then come home and be part of the family.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a German Shorthaired Pointer such a good hunting dog?
GSPs combine intelligence, stamina, athletic ability, trainability, and strong natural hunting instincts.
They are versatile enough to find, point, track, and retrieve game on both land and water.
That versatility makes them especially useful for hunters who want one dog capable of performing several jobs.
Are GSPs good with children?
They can be excellent family dogs and generally bond closely with their families.
Because they are energetic and athletic, supervision and good training are important, especially around younger children.
Do GSPs need a lot of exercise?
Yes.
They are working dogs with substantial physical and mental needs.
Regular running, field work, hiking, swimming, retrieving, structured training, and other active exercise help keep your dog focused and well behaved.
Are German Shorthaired Pointers easy to train?
They are highly intelligent and generally eager to work.
Their energy and drive mean that your training needs to be clear and consistent.
A structured training system normally produces better results than inconsistent commands or correcting problems only after they appear.
Are GSPs only for hunters?
No.
They can make excellent active family dogs, but you still need to provide an outlet for the instincts and energy the breed was developed to use.
Even a non-hunting GSP benefits from retrieving, obedience work, running, swimming, scent work, and other structured activities.
Can a GSP live with other pets?
Yes, but early socialization matters.
German Shorthaired Pointers have a natural prey drive, so introductions to smaller animals should be controlled and supervised.
Should I choose a male or female puppy?
Both males and females can make excellent hunting dogs and family companions.
The individual puppy's temperament, natural ability, energy level, and fit with your goals are more important than sex alone.
We can help you choose a puppy that is a good match for what you want from your dog.
Are German Shorthaired Pointers Good Family Dogs?
Yes.
A well-bred and properly trained German Shorthaired Pointer is affectionate, loyal, social, and strongly connected to its family.
They tend to do very well in active households and can be excellent with children.
They are, however, high-energy hunting dogs. Your GSP needs regular exercise, structure, training, and interaction.
Early socialization is also important, especially around smaller animals because of the breed's natural prey drive.
Give your GSP the right outlet for its energy and instincts, and you get a dog that can be both a serious hunting partner and an excellent family companion.
How Much Exercise Does a GSP Need?
German Shorthaired Pointers are athletic dogs with a high energy level.
Your dog needs substantial daily physical activity and mental stimulation.
Good outlets include:
-
Running
-
Hiking
-
Swimming
-
Retrieving
-
Field work
-
Structured training
-
Hunting
-
Active play
Without enough exercise and structure, a GSP can become bored and develop unwanted behaviors.
A well-exercised GSP is typically calmer, more focused, and easier to train.
Can a German Shorthaired Pointer Live in an Apartment?
It is possible, but it is not ideal for most GSPs.
This breed was developed to move, hunt, and work over large areas.
A home with a secure yard or frequent access to open outdoor space is usually a better fit.
If you live in an apartment, you need to be committed to giving your dog significant daily exercise, training, and outdoor activity.
The size of your home matters less than whether you can consistently meet your dog's physical and mental needs.
